Functional Assessment (FA)
The Functional Assessment (FA) is a comprehensive evaluation of how an individual’s mental health symptoms affect their daily life and functioning. This assessment covers:
- The impact of mental illness on various roles and settings, such as work, home life, and community participation.
- Identification of areas where the individual is experiencing significant impairment in functioning.
- A detailed description of how mental health symptoms interact with other factors affecting life functioning.
The FA is a key component in identifying the appropriate level of care and guiding the development of the member’s Individual Treatment Plan (ITP).
