Who is Eligible for ARMHS?

To qualify for ARMHS in Minnesota, clients must meet the following requirements:

Age Requirement

• Must be 18 years or older

Mental Health Diagnosis

Mental Health Diagnosis

• Must have a primary diagnosis of a mental illness as determined by a licensed mental health professional. Examples include (but are not limited to):
• Schizophrenia spectrum disorders
• Bipolar disorder
• Major depressive disorder
• Anxiety disorders
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Personality disorders

Functional Impairment

Functional Impairment

• The mental health condition must impair the client’s ability to manage daily living activities such as:
• Maintaining personal hygiene and self-care
• Managing finances
• Maintaining housing stability
• Establishing and maintaining relationships
• Managing symptoms and emotional responses

Eligibility for Medical Assistance (MA)

Eligibility for Medical Assistance (MA)

• Clients must be enrolled in Minnesota Medical Assistance (MA) or a qualifying managed care plan.
(If a client is not enrolled in MA, we can assist with the application process.)

Mental Health Assessment

• A recent Diagnostic Assessment (DA) conducted by a licensed mental health professional within the past 12 months is required.
(If you don’t have a current assessment, we can arrange one for you.)
